Motorcycle Crashes Into Road Divider in Itahari, Killing Rider

A 29-year-old man has died after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a road divider in Itahari, Sunsari district, on Friday morning.

The victim was identified as Anil Rai of Bhirgaun in Dhankuta Municipality-2, according to Sunsari police.

Rai was seriously injured in the crash in Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City-4 and later died while receiving treatment at Birat Teaching Hospital, police said.

A 26-year-old passenger, Sandip Rai, who was also from Bhirgaun, was injured in the accident and is receiving treatment at the same hospital.

Police said the motorcycle struck a divider placed on the road while travelling at high speed.

An investigation into the circumstances of the crash is under way.
