Our Newsroom

Reporting for Nepal, by Nepalis

Niguro Media is the news arm of Niguro — Nepal's homegrown search and digital ecosystem. We publish original, timely journalism on news, politics, business, technology, and culture that matters to Nepali readers at home and abroad.

Our mission is simple: report facts accurately, label opinion clearly, serve the public interest, and hold ourselves to the same standards we expect from the people and institutions we cover.

"We believe Nepal deserves its own digital ecosystem — built by Nepalis for Nepalis."

Accuracy

Right facts, right context, right attribution.

Independence

No outside influence over coverage or decisions.

Transparency

We show our work and admit our mistakes.

Public Interest

We report for readers, not for clicks.

How We Work

Our Standards in Practice

Every story we publish follows the same set of editorial standards — from the first source check to the final byline.

Sourcing & Verification

We rely on primary sources, official records, and multiple independent confirmations wherever possible. Anonymous sources are used sparingly and only when the information is clearly in the public interest and verifiable elsewhere.

Fact-Checking

Before publication, names, dates, quotes, figures, and claims are checked against the source material. When a claim cannot be verified, we say so — or we do not publish it.

Accuracy & Corrections

We correct errors promptly and visibly. A correction notes what was wrong and what was changed. Significant corrections are appended to the story and, when warranted, flagged in a corrections note.

Independence & Conflicts

Editorial decisions are made solely by the newsroom. Our team members disclose conflicts of interest, do not accept gifts or payments from sources we cover, and recuse themselves where a real or perceived conflict exists.

Bylines & Authorship

Every article carries the byline of the journalist who wrote it, linked to a public author profile. We avoid generic bylines like "Staff" or "Admin" — readers deserve to know who is reporting and why they are qualified.

AI & Automation

We may use AI-assisted tools for research, transcription, or drafting. AI is never used as the sole source of reporting, and a human journalist reviews and takes responsibility for every published article. Articles substantially produced with AI assistance are disclosed where appropriate.

Sponsored Content & Ads

Editorial content and advertising are kept strictly separate. Sponsored or promoted content is always labeled clearly so readers can tell the difference. See our Advertising & Sponsored Content policy.

Reader Feedback

We treat reader feedback seriously. Corrections, clarifications, and complaints can be sent through our contact page, and community participation is governed by our Code of Conduct.
What We Do Not Publish
  • Unverified claims, rumors, or content scraped or aggregated from other outlets without original reporting.
  • Hate speech, harassment, or content that incites violence.
  • Paid placements presented as independent news. Sponsored content is always labeled.
  • Misleading headlines, clickbait, or manipulated images presented as genuine.
