Man Missing After Being Swept Away in Mahakali River in Kanchanpur

A 50-year-old man has gone missing after being swept away by the Mahakali River in Kanchanpur while attempting to take a cow across the river.

Police identified the missing man as Jit Damai, a resident of Malika Tole in Dodhara Chandani Municipality-4.

According to the District Police Office, the incident occurred at around 9:30 a.m. on Monday. Damai was reportedly trying to move a cow across the river near an island in the Mahakali River within Dodhara Chandani-4 when he was swept away by the current.

Police Inspector Birendra Thapa said a joint team of the Nepal Police and Armed Police Force has been mobilized to search for Damai.

However, authorities said his whereabouts remain unknown and the search operation is continuing.
