Young Man Dies After Being Hit by Jeep in Bara

A young man was killed after being struck by a jeep while walking along the Kalaiya–Birgunj road in Bara district on Wednesday night.

The accident occurred at around 9:15 p.m. near Garden View Resort in Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City-23, police said.

According to the District Police Office, Bara, the jeep, bearing registration number Na 1 Ja 6403, was travelling from Birgunj towards Kalaiya when it hit the pedestrian.

The victim, believed to be around 22 or 23 years old, sustained serious injuries in the collision. A police team rescued him from the scene and initially took him to the Provincial Hospital in Kalaiya for treatment.

He was later referred to LS Neuro Hospital in Parwanipur for further treatment. However, he died while receiving medical care at around 10:30 p.m., police said.

The man’s body has been kept at LS Neuro Hospital. His identity has not yet been established.

Police have taken the jeep and its driver into custody as they investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Further investigation is underway.
