How prayer times are calculated
Prayer times are based on the sun's position relative to each city's coordinates, following astronomical calculation methods. Different Islamic organizations use different angles for Fajr and Isha, and Asr differs between the Shafi and Hanafi schools — which is why a few minutes can differ between methods and why we let you switch between them. Always confirm times with your local mosque.
