Dana White to Meet Trump on Monday Over Press Secretary Offer

Dana White will meet Donald Trump in person at the Oval Office on Monday to discuss the offer to become the next White House press secretary, according to TMZ.

White is in London for a boxing match this weekend. He will sit down with the president on Monday, 9 November, to talk through the role, and an answer is expected after the meeting.

Trump made the offer public on Saturday, writing on Truth Social that Dana White, the chief executive of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, had been offered the job. He praised White as a fighter and a warrior and said he would be "a Press Secretary like none other", adding: "Dana, please take the job!"

White has not formally accepted the offer. He responded on Instagram with a photograph of himself standing at the podium in the White House briefing room, captioned "On to the next chapter".

Trump also asked White to bring six UFC fighters with him as assistants, naming Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes and Kayla Harris. He said they were needed to defend the administration against the "Lunatic Left".

The press secretary post has been vacant since Katie Zacharia left the role on 16 October after only five days in the job. Vice President JD Vance is reported to have broken the news of her departure to her during an interview.

Before this week's midterm elections, White House staff members had floated the singer Nicki Minaj as another possible choice for the role.
