Devanagari numerals
Nepali writes numbers in the same decimal system as English, but with its own ten digit shapes: ० १ २ ३ ४ ५ ६ ७ ८ ९ — read zero through nine. Older documents, land papers, school books and government forms often use them, which is why a form that expects २०८२ can reject a perfectly correct 2082.
The conversion is positional, so only the digit glyphs change. Commas, decimal points, currency signs and any letters in the text are passed through untouched, and a number like 1,250.75 keeps its comma and point.
The reverse direction is handy when you need to paste a Devanagari figure into a field that only accepts Latin digits — a spreadsheet, a bank form or a URL.
