Counting age the Nepali way

An age is not just a subtraction: because months have different lengths, a birthday that falls on the 31st can make the month-and-day component of an age shift by a day or two. This calculator walks the calendar month by month from the birth date instead, so it reports the same years, months and days a registrar would.

Bikram Sambat birthdays need a real calendar. The BS year runs about 56 years and 8 months ahead of AD, but the offset drifts as the year goes on, because BS months are not the same length as Gregorian ones. Subtracting 56 years from a BS year is a common shortcut and it is wrong by weeks depending on the month — so the BS branch here converts through the full month-length table first, then does the same calendar walk.
