The office of Nepali online news outlet Ukaalo has been burgled in Kathmandu, with three computers reportedly stolen during the night.

Police said the incident took place at Ukaalo’s office in Hadigaun at around 11:30pm. Two laptops and a computer were among the equipment reported missing.

According to police, the burglars appear to have entered the office through a house under construction near the premises. They are believed to have gained access from the rear of the building before entering Ukaalo’s office.

“We have found that they entered from the back through the building under construction. We are investigating the incident,” a police source said.

Ukaalo has filed a complaint at the Maligaun Police Circle following the theft.

Police said CCTV footage from the area shows the movements of four people around the time of the incident. Investigators are examining the footage and other evidence as they work to identify those involved.

The investigation is ongoing.
