KC will now lead Nepal Police as its new chief. The Inspector General heads the country's main law-enforcement body, which is responsible for maintaining law and order across all districts, and the appointment is among the most senior security decisions a government makes.
The change completes a switch at the top of the police, with the outgoing chief moving to the advisory role and the new chief taking command of the force.
