Opposition parties in the House of Representatives have asked for a meeting of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee over the Inam Sapkota case.
Nepal Communist Party chief whip Yuvraj Dulal and Rastriya Prajatantra Party parliamentary party leader Gyanendra Shahi wrote to committee chair Hari Dhakal asking for the meeting.
Dulal asked how the Sapkota audio, said to be recorded while Sapkota was in police custody, came out, and what was the basis for a Facebook post by Kumar Ben, chief adviser to the prime minister, about it.

Shahi also asked for discussion of tension between the Inspector General of Police and the government, the arrest of a journalist, and remarks by the prime minister's chief adviser.
Sapkota is a middleman arrested over allegations of interfering in a case before the court. The case has already drawn political comment over the audio attributed to him.
