Nepal Police's Central Investigation Bureau has arrested a man who remained fugitive after a court sentenced him in a banking offence case. Subin Baidar, 40, was arrested in Banepa on Wednesday.
Baidar, a resident of Banepa Municipality-6 in Kavrepalanchok and son of Surendra Baidar, was arrested from Banepa Municipality-7. Police said a team deployed on a secret tip-off took him into custody after information that he had been hiding in various places in Kavrepalanchok.
Kathmandu District Court had found him guilty in a banking offence case filed by the government on a complaint by Deepak Chapagain. In its verdict on 32 Asar, the court imposed a fine of Rs 15.1 million and one year in prison in case number 082-C1-2092.

Police said Baidar had remained fugitive while the fine remained unpaid and the sentence remained unserved. He has now been presented to Kathmandu District Court so the court's verdict on the prison term and fine can be enforced.
The police account does not disclose the bank involved, the nature of the transactions, or any separate figure for money to be recovered by victims. The Rs 15.1 million figure given is the fine imposed by the court.
