Teenager Missing In Bajura

A 16-year-old boy has gone missing after being swept away while crossing the Kalsinge stream in Jagannath Rural Municipality-3 of Bajura district.

The missing teenager has been identified as Anuj Singh, the son of Birj Singh, from Jagannath-3. He had gone to the area to graze goats when he was swept away while attempting to cross the stream at around 1pm on Tuesday, according to police.

Local resident Khadka Bhandari informed the Juddi Police Post about the incident at around 5:50pm.

A three-member team from the Juddi Police Post, led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Ramesh Bahadur Rawal, was immediately sent to the area to begin the search and rescue operation.

Seven personnel from the Armed Police Force’s Disaster Rescue Security Base in Kolti have also been mobilised to assist in the search.

Police said the incident site is about a four-hour walk west of the Juddi Police Post. The search has been made more difficult by the strong flow of water in the stream, but security personnel and local residents are continuing efforts to locate the missing teenager.

As of Wednesday, Singh had not been found and the search operation was continuing.
