Woman Found Dead Along River in Kanchanpur

A 65-year-old woman has been found dead along the Sunbara River in Kanchanpur, police said.

The woman, identified as Siththu Khuna, was found on the riverbank at Pipaladi in Shuklaphanta Municipality-3 on Monday afternoon.

Khuna, who lived in Mukti Tole in Shuklaphanta-10, had left home earlier that morning, according to police.

Police Inspector Birendra Thapa of the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, said her body was discovered later in the day along the river.

Her body has been taken to Mahakali Provincial Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Police said an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death is underway.
